Inventive, playful, sometimes danceable, sometimes psychedelic, always generous and enthusiastic : YMNK’s music mirrors its creator’s personality. This colorful music project, led by Alexis ZBIK - active in the French rock/post-punk scene for over 15 years - started in 2019 has a “not-too-serious” playful musical experiment but quickly gained recognition for its inventive & DIY approach.

By crafting his own synthesizers and effect pedals, he has developed a unique and personal music setup, making futuristic sounds with a handmade, lo-fi touch. This technical approach, supported by openly shared schematics and designs, allows for constant evolution and, most importantly, endless repairability in a world where everything is disposable. Here, the artist isn’t at the mercy of machines—he commands them.

This artistic and technological setup also shines in his music, inspired by the roots of electronic music while exploring new horizons. Slowly but surely, his sound has found its way to listeners’ ears, primarily through his favorite playground: the live performance.

On stage, YMNK performs as a one-man band, full of energy, fun and inventiveness. He captivates both devoted music fans both from rock and electronic scene and curious newcomers, as shown by his acclaimed appearances in more than 10 countries in Europe and Quebec.
